How do I check my transmission fluid level?  Generally the fluid should be
checked with the engine running and the transmission in Park, Dodge rear
wheel drives should be checked with the transmission in neutral (remember
to set your parking brake).
There are exceptions, of course, so if in doubt check your owner's manual or
stop by and let us check it for you.

How often should I have my transmission serviced?   Most vehicles should
be serviced about every 30,000 miles.  Consider doing it at 20,000 miles for
vehicles used for towing.

Do I need an auxiliary transmission cooler?  Any vehicle used for towing
should have an auxiliary cooler.

Can I get a "new" transmission for my car?  With VERY few exceptions new
transmissions are not available, even transmissions purchased from a
dealer will be "remanufactured" this means they are transmissions that have
been rebuilt or overhauled.

My Chrysler mini-van's check engine light is on and I only have one forward
gear, do I need a transmission?
Not necessarily.  Many times a bad speed
sensor will cause the computer to put your car into "failsafe" or limp-in
mode limiting it to one gear. Of course this isn't always the case but it is
definitely something that needs to be checked before any major repair is
started.

How long is your work warranted?  Our rebuilt transmissions carry a
nationwide warranty for 12 months / 12,000 miles.  24 month / 24,000 mile
warranties are available as well, ask for details when you call or come in.
All of our warranties are issued through ATSG.
